Netflix produces many films. They do not care about releasing to theaters or operating as a traditional studio. Their own immediate comments point to a continuation of this attitude. They do not want theatrical distribution to exist.

WB will simply no longer be a major studio. WB just has some movies that can be streamed, not that you'll see much from before 1980 but mostly just has dad Netflix can mine and train their slop machines on.

How does Amazons rights interact with WB's? They really are carrying on with that Gollum film, and they had that Rohan anime film last year. If it continues to be tied to Jackson's films, will Netflix have the same carve out I wonder?

Unless I'm mistaken, this new release has more of the animated section that even those screenings didn't.
