This is a big one. It's extremely difficult to bring international postdocs in. Seems like a no-brainer to welcome them. They're super talented, and we (US universities) didn't even have to spend money on their education!

Do it. We adopted a bonded pair and it's great. So much fun and two is not twice the bother of one. They feed off each other's energy and it all feels healthy.

I have worked with folks who are true believers about hormesis. Maybe he's one of them.

When I started in federal IT in 1999 I was setting up a website to share public data and doing any kind of authentication was a problem because we had to get cabinet level approval just to set a session cookie because feds weren't supposed to track people and cookies could do that.

Thanks for this. Looking forward to hearing your interview. I love how @tomking.bsky.social tells stories. But it almost seems like cheating when he has such amazing artists breathing life into the story. I hope they keep doing projects together.

I have the same problem with my LG. If you're willing to put your head in the dryer with a screwdriver there are a few phillips screws exposed to the inside that can remove the plastic slot. One holds the moisture sensor and two hold the plastic cover. Then it's easier to clean.
