I don't know of anyone who has eaten this species - Inski ate a similar species in New Zealand and got a little sick.

This one doesn't get any bluer when bruised, so must be a different molecule.

Thanks! This one was a little difficult because it started raining really hard as I was setting up my camera - I had some friends hold their raincoat over the tripod so I could get this shot without getting my gear too wet.

I saw lots of cool Psilocybe collections that you found along that road in the ENCB herbarium in Mexico City - I always wondered who Jim Jacobs was. I'd love to talk to you more about your Mexico travels - I'll be in the PNW next month, perhaps we can go mushroom hunting one afternoon.

I used a macro lens with a 2x teleconverter so it's about 6x magnification - almost a microscope but it's an Olympus OM-1 camera + 90mm macro lens. They were really tiny, about 1 mm across.
