Thank you for publicising the petition. It feels like real progress is being made, although the wheels of local government grind extremely slowly! This is definitely a 'difficult' route (see @lauralaker.bsky.social's recent article) but we will keep urging the two councils on in ever larger numbers

My advice is to get in touch with @freddievanmierlomp.bsky.social. He has been a great champion for the Thame-Haddenham Greenway.

Thanks - I'm looking forward to riding the Misbourne Greenway and the Waddesdon route is great. We've got mixed feelings about the Bucks Greenway idea, mainly because we're not on it! It probably helps to have a grand project, but could it suck limited resources away from other schemes?

A strong public safety justification as in people have been killed or seriously injured on the road route? Rather than the roads just being visibly dangerous and off-putting for the vast majority, which is clearly the case in many places.

Exactly - fundamentally broken is exactly right. We've got a great team of officers and we're actually very lucky that ours is one of the few routes being worked on, but it feels like we've been stuck in limbo for years and landowner issues mean that little information filters out.

Thank you - a great, if depressing read. Progress on our aspiration for the Haddenham-Thame Greenway on the Bucks-Oxon border could certainly be described as glacial. We'd be very interested to hear what our two councils told you about CPOs etc.

Looks brilliant. On the subject of heat networks (and why they sometimes can be counterproductive), this is also well worth a listen. zeroambitions.transistor.fm/187

Well deserved!

Thank you for taking the time to visit Emily. It's great to have you on the case. Your Green Party colleagues Greg Smith and Maru Mormina @maru-buckscc.bsky.social are also pushing hard for progress on the Bucks side.

Good point!

Congratulations! That's a great appointment. We'll definitely be in touch about the Thame-Haddenham Greenway.

Just sent a complaint. Today programme this morning was repeating the same stuff. Potential PM. Close to winning Hamilton. They're planting a seed in people's minds and constantly reinforcing it, whilst completely ignoring the Greens and the Lib Dems.

Thanks Maru - we're pleased that our two councillors are both strong supporters of the greenway. We'll look forward to working with you both to secure progress at long last.
June 8, 2025 at 10:30 AM
It was great to meet you both. We’re delighted the greenway is receiving so much attention thanks to your work. It will be a transformative project for people in Haddenham and a Thame once we overcome the obstacles and get it built.
June 7, 2025 at 7:17 AM
A much-needed initiative, thank you. There must be community groups like ours all over the country tearing their hair out over the glacial rate of progress. But we hope the Haddenham-Thame Greenway will soon be a potential case study for you, thanks to support from @freddievanmierlomp.bsky.social

This ties in very nicely with your excellent episode on rural active travel @lauralaker.bsky.social @adamtranter.bsky.social @phil-pja.bsky.social. It would be great to see @cyclinguk.bsky.social and @ategov.bsky.social get behind this. Not to mention @transportaction.bsky.social
May 23, 2025 at 10:14 AM
Excellent - really pleased you're on the case! I hope it gives the councils the flexibility to make sensible compromises and get a lot more delivered - and it's great that there seems to be some real momentum around rural active travel at the moment.

This is the ride we organised in support last year.
May 9, 2025 at 11:10 AM
We've been campaigning for at least 25 years for the Haddenham-Thame Greenway on the Bucks-Oxon border (so your latest podcast episode was a really interesting listen. Things are looking up recently as we've got both local MPs on the case, and it keeps getting mentioned in parliament.
May 9, 2025 at 11:00 AM
Fascinating episode. Particularly interesting for us as we're on the Bucks-Oxon border and have been trying for years to get a safe route between Thame and Haddenham. Do you know when the new guidance will be released @phil-pja.bsky.social? Clearer advice to councils on CPOs would also help!
