What You Should Know About Driving Through Flooded Streets
Flooding kills more drivers than any weather hazard. When every street turns into a river, even an ordinary drive can become deadly.

Data, meet demonstrations. 🤝

Portland, Oregon's regional government, Oregon Metro, launched a new Safe Streets hub. The hub gives residents, advocates, and city leaders access to safety data across the region.
Photo of a street in Portland, Oregan marked with bollards; the bollards are outlined in glowing white lines. Text reads “Data (handshake emoji) Demonstrations” and the handshake is over “designing streets to be safer.”

Folks often think that sales tax can make up for unproductive land use. However, our friends at Urban3 have found that unproductive developments like big box stores and shopping centers are still no match for mixed-use buildings and traditional downtowns, even counting sales tax.

The federal government’s current role in transportation infrastructure is outdated and ineffective. The interstate highway system has long been completed, yet this expansion-based operation is the default basis of federal transportation spending.
