and while i think it’s nice and helpful to love ourselves as a species, i think it is NOT helpful to view ourselves as above anything else. in my opinion, anthropocentrism is part of what makes us feel entitled. we can think we’re amazing and unique without degrading others.

humans can be very amazing and i think it’s counterproductive to our cause to view ourselves with such disdain and as so separate from the whole of Nature. saying “humans destroyed earth” is quite steeped in colonialism and Eurocentrism. many humans work hard to protect the land and each other.
