Safe and close access to emergency medical care shouldn't depend on your postal code. Alberta needs to build capacity and safe staffing in public health care so people in communities like Fort Macleod don't have to drive to Lethbridge or Pincher Creek to get to an Emergency Department.

Alberta's nurses know the solution is capacity. Real care comes from building up the system we all rely on by investing in nurses and health workers, improving hospitals and rural access, and keeping care public, safe, and accessible, no matter your income or postal code.

Alberta nurses know that health care works best when health care workers stick together. That’s why UNA supports @hsaalberta.bsky.social in their fight for fairness and respect. It’s time for AHS and the government to bring forward an improved wage offer that respects the work done by these workers.
