Article is pay walled, but I used to read some of their articles a few years ago and my guess is that it is some fusion of two of their obsessions, hate towards Russia and badly concealed hate towards the EU.

"No it isn't" , I think it's a good answer.

Is there a reduction in the use of condoms? That would be a simple and sound explanation.

I'm a clinical microbiologist, and I don't understand what they mean by "terribly resilient". I suppose they're not talking about antimicrobial resistance, which would affect treatment rather than transmission. Is N. Gonorrhoeae now more persistent in the environment? I doubt that/

It all boils down to "as few measures as possible", because 1)our rich buddies don't like them, 2)normal people don't like them either. Droplet transmission was better because it allowed open restaurants with slightly more space between tables etc. I don't think anyone gave a f**k about science.

The somewhat uncomfortable question is, are these continuous outbreaks of hemorrhagic fever viruses favouring the evolution of variants which are more infectious to humans?

Katholisch? In Dänemark?

Partial good news is that there is a good match with this year's vaccine strains, at least so I read.

Even if, there are complicated research approaches and a few patients in the world have been apparently cured with blood stem cell transplant that they needed for other reasons like cancer. But this integration is something very specific for HIV, not a relevant mechanism for SARS-CoV2

You won't remove the virus from the body (how do you remove something that has become part of your DNA?) but you will prevent it from replicating. In this sense, we do have a cure for AIDS, the immune deficiency which is the end stage of the HIV infection, we don't have a cure for HIV infection/

Hi, I'm a virologist.. HIV is a VERY peculiar virus because it has the ability to integrate into the genome of the infected cell, where it can remain even if it isn't producing any viral proteins. Thus, even if you hit pharmacologically several proteins essential for its replication/

@daniellebeckman.bsky.social showed in her microscopy pictures that SARS CoV2 might enter the CNS inside infected leukocytes, this same mechanism can also be exploited to get a beneficial effect

You know, on a historical scale, it's not so optimistic. Things change and they can change a lot; balances of power that seemed unshakeable can collapse suddenly. The problem is the historical scale, one could be legitimately angry that maybe this will happen in 10 years, maybe in 50 years or more

Unfortunately, it's not so easy. People might have their boss making unpleasant remarks on the mask and be scared that this can have a negative impact on their career. They might be afraid that in general being "the weird one" could isolate them and again, damage their career..

Something drawn during the Nazi occupation, but when it was becoming clear that they were losing? Say, 1944..

Is this something universal in ALL viruses of fungi? That they don't have an extracellular phase? This sounds really exceptional

Sewage systems, sorry
August 22, 2025 at 1:18 PM
And also, how come when people really exercised their immunity (I mean before there were sewage system), the average life expectancy was <40?

Abschiebungen und Grenzkontrollen sind genau das, was die ältesten Staaten der Welt wie Deutschland und Italien derzeit brauchen (ironisch).
