this is such an important moment in Deaf & in disability history. it was seen around the world but has since been broadly forgotten.

nyle dimarco is the director, so it is Deaf people sharing Deaf history which is even more wonderful!!

it’s simply called “Deaf President Now!” & is out May 16

i also wrote an easier-to-read version in more simple english (& it’s shorter). that is in the quoted.
#NEISVoid
this is the second version of my post about disability history

it is written in simple english & well spaced out. it is about 1,500 words.

you can read one section without reading the others if you are limited, there isn’t really an overlap between section info

Disability History — Easier to Read Version
An easier to read version about two protests by disabled people in the USA & how disability history isn’t in history books.

basically our theory is that they measured me for it and then forgot to take the 3in seat cushion into account. because when i sit in it without the cushion it seemed to be right height-wise. which is ridiculous but whatever

just ordered some accessories - cup holder being an important one - because i realised at half one this morning i couldn’t carry a cup of tea back with me, which meant no tea for al. very sad.

i’ve been doing jigsaw puzzles lately. usually with classic doctor who on - gotta actually play my dvds - but i’ve done a few films too. not for a bit now, i think, i’m into repercussions for the wheelchair appointment & feeling grim.
