It's an incredibly fun idea, to invite the listener in, like a black hole, have all sorts of interesting bits for fans to explore. This creates a totally unique album experience; in my opinion, Aesop has really gone above with his recent albums, expanding on these concepts he builds for his albums.

Altogether, this forms the whole concept of the album, a surreal, late-night convenience store with nostalgic items and design, not grounded in space or time, possibly taking the listener or visitor as a prisoner.

The album cover for Black Hole Superette was created by Justin "El Coro" Kaufman, who had created the covers for Aesop's recent albums, Integrated Tech Solutions, Garbology, Spirit World Field Guide, and collaborative album with Rob Sonic, Hail Mary Mallon's Bestiary.

Altogether, this album is a send-off, a goodbye, an elegy. The day is soon to be over, the balls travel toward the horizon and out of sight. It's a somber theme yet the music is playful; possibly sharing that while goodbyes our sad, we should enjoy the last bit of time we have.

The album cover as a whole is a landscape photograph in the Sahara desert. On the front, several large red-orange balls are placed in the sand, with long shadows as the sun sets. The balls move away from the viewer, rising and falling over the terrain and into the horizon.

When all 3 albums are placed next to each other, you may notice that all 3 covers combine to spell out their names horizontally, in order. Watsky shared that he and his friend built a scriptto find 3 words that work this way, and built his next 3 albums around these words.

Watsky, Intention (2023)

The final album is Intention (2023), which released slightly more than two years ago. When the album was initially released, it was a 9 track LP just like the other albums, but shortly after was revealed to have 9 more track, unlocked after completing an online puzzle.

The cover features oversaturated and vividly colored houses in front of a beach, with the same grid for the album title. These are references to Watsky's growing up in the Bay Area, the "little boxes on the hillside" and uniformity of the suburbs.

Watsky, Placement (2020)

The second album is Placement, another 9 track LP that's a bit more youthful and fun compared to Complaint. Topics for this album include youth, politics, and living despite facing hardships and suicidal thoughts.

The cover features a dark and blurry portrait of George on a cut surface with the 3x3 grid of letters to form the album's title. The cuts match the direction George is looking to have continuity, and the letters are also cut, indicating that they are actually on the surface of the photograph.
