That's never been my experience. Continually taken for a mug. A lot better off since I stopped doing favours for neighbours, more free time, more money in my pocket.

It's curious to me that in the US, it was the Republicans who banned slavery. More recently, the 1960s, there was the Dixiecrats. A lot easier in the UK where it was the Whigs, forerunner of the Liberals that abolished the slave trade, then slavery.

Just as well that I wasn't being serious.

That's because you and the rest of the woke literati don't understand how the economy works. We need the wealth creators to earn as much as they can whilst paying less tax. Hopefully some of them will fund charitable institutes(tax deductible). The poorest who will get bread and cicuses. Simple.

The Kennedy's- the most overrated political dynasty ever? JFK and the rest of the , so called Irish Murphy, escalated the Vietnam war. Removing whole villages, authorising the use of chemical warfare. His father appeared almost pro Nazi at times. Ted Kennedy and Chappaquidick bridge.

Better than the, largely overrated London Calling, which got far more plaudits.

But, but, Trump is a good man who has put himself in the front line, to be literally shot at, (or not). He has never sought any financial gain as he selflessly puts himself for ridicule on the world stage.

Trump has capitulated. Inevitable really.

Are books banned in the USA? Genuinen question, banned outright or not made available at any libraries?
May 11, 2025 at 4:48 PM
Sadly, Trump has done all the groundwork. " Drain the swamp... The Deep State... Fake News. " His deluded followers aren't intelligent enough to question it. If it's any consolation, seems like the whole world is going mad.

It would be dry, if it wasn't raining.

That's it? You criticise him for the way he looks?
I think Draco Malfoy would be feeling quite upset. Although his character probably has a greater basis in reality.

Trump's entrance was rightfully greeted by a silent, almost reverential hush as befits a great statesman.
Yes, am being sarcastic.

Is it true that The Handmaid's Maids Tale is banned in some States? This could be a rumour, but if it's true, so much for the US being the home of Free Speech.

As the position is not open to women, and I have never been aware of a non white Pope, experience suggests otherwise.

Sadly only for 11 minutes.

Like the critics of Salman Rushdie?

The UK cover included what looked to be the standard rejection letter for Inflammable Materiel from Christ's. It was eventually released by Rough Trade. For me that was their best work.

Glen Matlock? He had already left. Thought they, the remaining Pistols, split in January 78.

If it's any consolation, the whole world is going mad, ADF in Germany, National Front in France, Islamic fundamentalist,Putin in Russia.

Amazed that so many people don't know that this is a cover version of the original by the Bobby Fuller 4.
