Anyway, all of this is to say that now I really hope I'm in a situation where the Fire Marshall tells us we're over capacity so I can pull the "but we already bought T-shirts" card.

Another submission for the lower end of the human decency scale.
A black GMC Yukon is illegally parked in a no-parking zone, partially obstructing the street. The vehicle is positioned close to the curb but extends into the roadway, blocking half of the lane. A yellow bicycle is locked to the pole of the "No Parking Anytime" sign, beside a mural-covered wall on the right.

I have recalibrated the lower end of my Scale of Basic Human Decency.
A parking lot at a grocery store in one of the more affluent neighborhoods in San Antonio. At the end of an aisle of parked cars, a white pickup truck has been backed into a parking spot as far back as it can go, yet the entire cab and hood of the truck extend beyond all of the other cars in the row, into the driving path, blocking everyone else's way. The truck has a massive steel brush guard on the front, and a suspension lift, none of which seems to have ever been needed to navigate the mean streets of Alamo Heights.

My kid almost got taken by Krampus last night.

Anecdotal climate change observation: I have not made a single pot of chili this fall. This time of year I would normally make chili every other week or so, but this year it's been way too hot, highs in the 90s, to even think about it. Our low temps until this past week have stayed in the 70s.

The photo is the wrong aspect ratio, and has been stretched to fill the space - everything is just slightly wrong. Additionally, we see that this account joined in August, 2024, has zero posts, follows 2,369 (nice) accounts, and somehow has 10 followers! (I'm sure they're real, too)
