Sure, you do you, of course. I asked cos it seemed an odd thing to say when promoting support for domestic producers. Ireland is as foreign as France or any other country. I think some British people ignore this, in a way that can be insulting and patronising towards Irish people.

Yeah, got that. Mine was a joke too. “Being sent to their bedrooms to think about what there done” wasn’t a serious suggestion. It was intended to imply they were naughty children. Guess humour is in the eye of the beholder.

Really really no. The international schedule is full of pointless T20 and ODI games that no one cares about already. They should be sent to their rooms to think about what they’ve done.

I don’t think it’s the fields so much as the time, capacity and inclination. But I agree. Clubs are the future of cricket as a mass participation game in England. Same applies to rugby which faces similar challenges.

Cricket is a mass participation sport in Australia. It’s a fairly obscure minority sport in england. England will struggle to compete while only a tiny proportion of the population ever try cricket. The private schools and diaspora populations are papering over the deep cracks at present.
