Think Jung not Coelho. When I'm not turning lead to gold, I'm napping.
Oooo matron!

Absolutely no way he can side with an invasion of Greenland. But he might start talking about Denmark and US sharing sovereignty in interest of Nato solidarity or some such rubbish. I can see him trying to adopt such a tortuous position

To repeat the point, the ones in the shit are the UK. There is no simple response for Starmer given the UK's self-inflicted "situation."

I'm referring to whether EU should impose counter tariffs. They shouldn't. These tariffs will hurt US more than EU. As far as the supply chains are concerned, that's a more medium term concern. Always good to diversify anyway.

EU doesn't need to and shouldn't do anything. Trump is winding out his own rope. UK are the one's in a quandary here.

Once that happens, US are in serious trouble. Ability to retain military supremacy will also be threatened as it will be unaffordable. Of course, they'll still have loads of nukes. But so do Russia. And no one's calling them a world power anymore. So weird US are letting this happen...

Not quite sure about that. US benefited hugely from being anchor of world economy. Comes with immense advantages such as being able to run up $trillion in deficits and not be worried there won't be market for your debt. What Trump is doing will turn bond market against US...

Some Chinese were celebrating when Trump won 2024 elections as they reckon it would be the end of US as a world power. We're seeing that bet paying out.

Can you say why the UK is the outlier in accepting the principle of tariffs? Surely, we can't be the only vulnerable country?

In an ideal world, of course Poch should have been backed when he talked about the need for a painful rebuild. But I give Levy a pass on that one. Getting the stadium built was crucial to securing the club's long term future. It was the right choice.

How was Sugar better than Scholar? We won one trophy under Sugar and quite a few with Scholar.

What I find odd about all this is why Labour is pursuing a "Theresa May" strategy in this proposed reset. The EU has consistently rejected Cakeism. Starmer and Reeves know this. So what is their objective here?
January 26, 2025 at 4:36 PM
He was the one that worked. I'm not Levy out because despite all the fuck-ups, the club is in a better state than when he took it over. I still remember the Sugar years. Even grimmer than now.
