Review of this year's hobby goals: I finished the chaos renegades except for the minotaur and played them at a tournament. I also finished the lizardmen but didn't play them. In tournaments I finished top 8 at two 2-dayers (3rd / 115 at Thrudball and 1st / 50 at South Coast Champs).
Happy new year everyone! BB hobby goals for this year are to finally complete my Chaos Renegades and later in the year paint a lizardmen team. Tournament goals are (1) to finish high (top 8?) at a 2-day tournament of over 50 people and (2) play my best races more consistently.

Played a practice game of #bloodbowl today to escape our houses - my Wood Elves vs Mike's orcs. Mike was playing his first BB2025 game and I was taking my Barton Bowl roster. We played out a 1-1 draw but I was down to 2 elves and a tree by the end - those new orcs are brutal!

Played a practice game of #bloodbowl today to escape our houses - my Wood Elves vs Mike's orcs. Mike was playing his first BB2025 game and I was taking my Barton Bowl roster. We played out a 1-1 draw but I was down to 2 elves and a tree by the end - those new orcs are brutal!
Also for Christmas, my wife got me this incredible Greebo Chaos #bloodbowl team. They detail from the greebonite is really fantastic, and they don't come with all the annoying pock-marks, brittleness or printing imperfections from etsy/ebay 3D prints. Going to take my time making these look good.

I got a couple of new #boardgames from Santa: Twighlight Inscription and Cheese Thief. The former should be fun because I have a friend who is a big fan of roll & writes (as am I). Cheese thief, we played 8-player with the family today and loved the cheese stealing and timing-based arguments!

A massive 515 runners at Christmas #parkrun this morning! I came 433rd with a time of 38.21. Not a PB this time, but the course was very busy and slowed to a walk in some narrow parts of the woods. Great to get out on Christmas morning on a bright, windy day. Happy Christmas everyone!

Spent most of the last 2 days playing Super Smash Bros with 3 of my kids. I'm by far the worst of the 4 of us but can get by if I have an extra life. Favourites are Duck Hunt Duo, Piranha Plant, Zelda, and Corrin.

I got in the #minipainting zone tonight and turned my blue #bloodbowl treeman into a finished treeman. Pics are on his own and with a few friends in my Old World Alliance team, which is now complete.

Yesterday, our #boardgames group played Ark Nova. The intro map for all of us because it was a teaching game (only I had played before). Continues to be really fun - I love the puzzle of planning which order to make your actions in.

Next #bloodbowl minis to paint are all big guys: a brutefun minotaur for my Chaos Renegade team, a GW treeman for my OWA team (hence he's now all blue to build up the colours from) and a Ripper Bolgrot that I started ages ago but need to finish (make the skin and scales more interesting).

Next #bloodbowl minis to paint are all big guys: a brutefun minotaur for my Chaos Renegade team, a GW treeman for my OWA team (hence he's now all blue to build up the colours from) and a Ripper Bolgrot that I started ages ago but need to finish (make the skin and scales more interesting).
This week at #boardgames night we played Brass Birmingham. One of my friends got the level 5 pottery out, which I hadn't seen before. Final scores were very close, even with one new player, and a good time was had by all.

Very minor hobby update: A long time ago I converted the 2nd thrower in the wood elf #bloodbowl box into a 3rd catcher. Now we're reduced to 2 catchers, I made it into a 7th line elf by swapping the hands for those from a dark elf sprue and painting them. Then turned the yellow rim black. Done!

Round 5 (final) game of Big Freez vs Blitzy's Nurgle. Winner takes all and a rematch of the Thrud final. Nurgle are horrible to play against! My drive looks bad but somehow I get the TD on turn 8. It's my first tournament of #bloodbowl third season this weekend: Da Big Freez. The first 2-dayer in the UK. Here's the meat of the rulespack. It's 4 max of each elite skill. Stars are allowed but there's a lengthy ban list of the best ones. What would you take?

OWA now have a proper team. They also have a 3rd dwarf lineman, so I painted the 3rd sculpt from the sprue last week. This is my team where all the shadows are blue and you build up in layers from there, quite a fun way to paint. Need to find a treeman for this team too. #bloodbowl #minipainting

OWA now have a proper team. They also have a 3rd dwarf lineman, so I painted the 3rd sculpt from the sprue last week. This is my team where all the shadows are blue and you build up in layers from there, quite a fun way to paint. Need to find a treeman for this team too. #bloodbowl #minipainting
Got my first game of BB2025 in today. I did some Eye Gouges, Secure The Balls, caught a high kick without a -1 modifier, all sorts. Just a little practice game before my 2-dayer tournament this weekend. #bloodbowl

Turns out the last tournament wasn't my farewell to #bloodbowl BB2020: this evening is the away leg of our Bracknell vs Aldershot 10 vs 10 rivalry game. I'm playing orcs vs Hekdar's Norse, same as the home fixture. 1-0 down at the half but 2 players up. Will go for the win ...

Hobby update: after that Slann team speedpaint I fancied doing more of the #bloodbowl stadium. I did the turn, reroll and score boards and all the little numbers. Love these big pieces, where you don't need to be neat, as a palette cleanser.
