Sometimes I wish I was willing to write what I'm feeling instead of what I want other people to feel.

Why must our community by so fractured?

Someone who has never experienced that would not know what to expect and will react in a very different way, than someone who has experienced it.

Because the non-trauma informed behavior is to ignore a harmful statement, but the trauma informed reaction is to react strongly before a the harmful statements become an escalating series with each statement supported by the proceeding one, all going back to the first harmful statement.

I know that in my own life, I developed a defensiveness, that has been used against me by abusers. Usually through the claim that I would not need to be defensive if the harmful statements they made weren't true.

I don't now for sure why, but I think that it's because the trauma informed responses that we have after abuse are noticed by abusers, and signal that we may still be subject to the socioeconomic conditions that lead to a vulnerability to abusers.
