He just came in inviting his gf to eat.
He walked to a food bowl, invite meowing again, walking in a figure 8, walked around her meowing, went to the opposite side of the bowl, lil meow, and she immediately started eating with him.

So I have this tendency to gently touch my cats faces when booping or kissing noses.
I've noticed several of my cats including my semi-feral kitten Sauron.
He's only 9 months old, but he's happily part of the family now.

My cats indicate they want to be pet by standing with their bums to me, tails up.
They'll wait impatiently with the occasional glance back like, "Cmon dad! Pet me damnit!"
