Where is the middle line in politics???
Keir Starmer saying he wasn’t aware of the Alaa Abd El-Fattahn is even more worrying than if he did know. We have a PM who said this was one of his top priorities and yet didn’t know all the facts !

Quote from Starmer “Alaa's case has been a top priority for my government since we came to office”

PR nightmare if you really think about it. So much more should be top priority and I would stay well clear of this.

Once again he can not read the room

What’s amazing to see is this government missed a wide open goals in both budgets. If they introduced a 2% Covid Recovery Tax on incomes over £45k AND an 8% Corporation Tax surcharge on profits over £200k, it could raise over £12bn in just 2 years!

The new NI cap on pension contributions only hits people using salary sacrifice mostly private sector workers trying to save more.
MPs and other public sector defined benefit pensions aren’t affected.
Once again, it’s ordinary workers who take the hit.

When will the government notice you can not keep the green policy and drive the economy out of bankruptcy.

'It doesn't seem to make sense.'
'I say again - £815 million so far this year, to switch off wind farms.'

@nickferrarilbc.bsky.social doesn't understand the justification that Labour's Stephen Morgan gives for investing more in wind farms with energy bills set to rise.
