Great to see more property lawyers recently join BlueSky. Thought I would create a starter pack to help others save a bit of time:

Happy Friday! Bluesky can't tell from my face that I am over the age of 18 so I cannot access DMs.

New blog post recalling the height of social distancing and back garden will-witnessing, as Covid era wills start to blossom into contentious probate challenges: equitysdarling.co.uk/2025/09/26/n...
No line of sight: due execution and presence In the Estate of Kathleen Coady - Equity's Darling
Coady v Coady: Covid-era “garden signing” fails s.9 Wills Act 1837. The presumption of due execution, and why the Will was invalid.

Anyone interested in issues of deaths of people who are homeless or precariously housed, and the ways in which institutions change (using a framework of discursive institutionalism), come along (in person) on Thursday 2 October at 17:15 to my Centre for Death and Society public lecture in Bath.

That's incredibly quick!

Pleased to hear this. Although I'm more keen for the direct trains to Bristol and Cambridge than more local train stations - and I live just outside Oxford. I'm going to Cambridge on Sunday and think it's ridiculous that, in 2025, the train has to go down to London before it heads up to Cambridge..

My wife and I initially planned to get married in the summer of 2020. Then when first planning for it we thought 'why wait until then?' So we brought the wedding forward to September 2019. Little did we know how good a decision that proved to be with Covid soon to change everything!
alecmorris1.bsky.social
Wonderful news - congratulations! (on your getting married that is, not the overexerting yourself..)

Better still - mistaken payment of cryptocurrency...
alecmorris1.bsky.social
Was it a good day out? My (toddler) daughter likes trains - this could be something she'd enjoy.
alecmorris1.bsky.social
Perhaps one on restitution may get some interest. Or simply one on the specific issue of mistaken payments - the latter being an issue to which a lot of people could relate? Maybe..

That's a shame. But as a convenor for one of the sections, social media posts are a difficult ask when you are chairing the presentations, trying to properly engage with the presentations (thinking of points/questions to ask) etc all the while with an eye on the clock. There's just not enough time!

I forgot all about him until this news story (probably because of leaving X for Bluesky). Not sure why you feel sorry for him - even albeit a little bit. He knows what he's doing.

Just announced: the UK's most famous libel firm, Carter-Ruck, is being prosecuted before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal for recklessly enabling a $4bn fraud

It's astonishing how reckless Carter-Ruck was - likely causing $$$ more to be lost to fraudsters

Today's the day! I'm going to take a punt and say this judgment will be a unanimous ruling in favour of the respondents/customers. Big changes coming!

The Supreme Court will hand down its decision at 1635 on Friday after the stockmarket in London has closed. Rare if not unique timing instead of normal 0945. Whichever way it goes it will be huge for the banks involved bit.ly/4kXZVsY
