The ruins of her church are still on Llanddwyn, this was from around 2018 I think

I'm not much into the religious aspect but the legend and history is fascinating - She's said to be one of the many children of King Brychan of Brycheiniog who all seemed to have gone on to become saints in the 5th century.

She became a nun and spent the rest of her life at Llanddwyn helping those in love. During the middle ages the island became a place of pilgrimage for lovers. They would throw a handkerchief with breadcrumbs into a well and if disturbed by the eels it meant they had a faithful lover.

The story goes that Dwynwen fell in love with someone she couldn't marry and asked god to ease her grief, and her lover into a block of ice. An angel granted her three wishes which was to thaw her love, for true lovers to always find happiness, and to never marry
