Although Rami told us he still felt let down by the industry's response to the genocide overall, he told us to pay attention to those who have been brave enough to step forward.

Like, for example, the @stjv.fr union members working out of Arkane Lyon, who'd released a statement in support of BDS.

That's just you not wanting to feel uncomfortable, it's sad to see people you thought highly letting you down but that's a reminder to use your critical thinking and remember the realities of AAA development.

I hope you get invited soon to dropped frames or their game podcast to see your take and experience with clients using machine learning tools and ai generated tools. The good, the bad and the bleak. I just hope Swen meant machine learning tools and he just mix it with ai

This is like one of the most integral part of the process for producing art too, if the root source of references is plagued by Al then that means the entire product will be a mess regardless of how 'good' it looks

It's basically what AI summaries are doing now, isn't it? Destroying discoverability. People don't find websites they just find summaries of them at the top of the page and very infrequently actually go past that.

Like man, my career only exists in the way that it does now because a production designer was googling "realistic pokemon" and found me. If he could have just had a machine spit that out, I never would have gotten a job. This is a major issue hitting artist discoverability.

Yeah I hate the tool I use is explained as ai, when is more like an auto complete tool that removes me from inputting 20 things on every claim and is all done with one button. They purposely blur the lines to normalize the use of bad ai from good automation tools

I use ai tool that takes data from one program and paste to another program saving lots of input. That’s an example I’m referring and I’m ok with that because is not generated or derivative ai. When used to speed task they are fantastic tools but when used to replace people or outsource work is bad

Back then Swen mentioned the tools were used to automate monotonous processes which I agree is where ai tools are best used. I’m not hating how is used in a way but I’m sad in that it kills the original source of the idea since it came from a machine and later was polished by a human.
