Tangentially, I stumbled upon and read another Wainwright Prize winner not too long back, that in its way had a similar effect on me.
Absolute belter (not least because the obdurate puffin was already my favourite bird ever).

I have just finished reading this wonderfully written book that in prose, sets out perfectly the poetry of carelessness: of our arrogance and dismissiveness of beautiful creatures that mean us no harm and by osmosis if spared, enhance our lives many fold.
