My old website couldn’t handle Rive.

So I rebuilt it in Framer.

…after it made me feel like a complete idiot first.
(Shoutout to stacks and frames.)

Been away for a bit! Turns out moving cities, finishing language school, and living without ceiling lights for days eat up your posting time.

At withlove.org, I helped bring one of our characters to life with @rive.app — animating 48 rigs across 70 poses to create a symphony of motion. We turned our app’s onboarding into a choreographed, musical experience!

Growth isn’t always visible, but it’s always happening.

It’s easy to feel like you’re standing still when working on personal projects, learning new software, or refining your craft. You don’t always see the progress in real-time.

This might be the most challenging walk cycle I’ve ever animated.

Getting the movement to feel right took some real effort, but I love how it turned out! The goal was to make sure the character’s mood really comes through, so I went with this crazy dance-like style.

Job hunting in 2025 be like… 💥

I started working on this little animation series a while back, but with everything going on, I haven’t had time to continue. So instead of letting it sit in a folder forever, I figured I’d just share it as it is!

Whenever I see a cute logo or poster outside, I can’t help but imagine how it would look if it were animated. That’s exactly what happened when I saw the ヤマト運輸 logo, and I couldn’t pass by without giving it a try!

A little behind-the-scenes from my CNY animation!

Originally, I planned to animate a pack of Chinese New Year symbols in Rive, but I didn’t make it in time. By the evening of CNY, I suddenly realized I should still create something, so I jumped in.

A while back, something clicked for me.

I realized that if I wanted to grow personally and professionally, I needed to shake things up. So I started focusing more on personal projects.

These characters have stuck with me since 2021, and I still love them!

Back then, I was rereading The Animator’s Survival Kit and wanted to sharpen my understanding of animation principles. I kept the design simple, something I’ve stuck with in my personal projects ever since.

One of my favorite shots from a past project!

I wanted to create an illusion of movement here, so from the start, I focused on camera movement, speed lines, and depth to bring the energy to life.

Another one from the time when I was learning Blender! I should really try Womp for fun sometime.

I had a great conversation with my friend Sam Gull (samuelgull.com) about art and creativity (go check out his work, he’s an amazing artist!). It made me realize how often I’ve been looking at things from the same perspective for too long.

I made a little grid of some of my personal animations from 2025 so far.

I’m sticking to the plan I set for myself: connecting, experimenting, learning, and taking on challenges. It sounds like a lot, but knowing it will pay off keeps me going.

Behind-the-scenes time!

In this project, I started with two key loops: a walk cycle and a run cycle. Then, I created two more compositions: one that transitions from walk to run, and another from run to jump.

"Still, we’re human, and we’re going to make mistakes. When that happens, we don’t chase blame. We dig in and figure out what happened. This is how we continuously raise the bar—not by being perfect, but by being a little bit better each day."
