There *are* cards in the game that force a choice during deck creation, like Prismatic Piper. But the proposed rules for hybrid mana doesn’t say you make a choice once for a hybrid commander and stick with it.
The Prismatic Piper forces you to pick a color during deck construction.

It’s the same because color identity checks all pips on the card, not just the casting cost. Same reason as to why Najeela here is a WUBRG commander.
Najeela has a WUBRG activated ability, and when you determine color identity you check all pips on the card, not just those in the casting cost. Najeela is a mono-red card with a WUBRG color identity in commander because of her ability.

So, Rhys the Redeemed could go into a white deck, a green deck, or be the commander for a green and white deck. It still looks at the rest of the mana symbols on the card as normal, so a card like Deathrite Shaman would remain ineligible for a mono-black deck because it has a green symbol in the text box.

Idk if she’s one you have to try, but the first one to grab my interest is this one, but with an equipment bent. I want to build her with a lot of Job Select / For Mirrodin cards so she can copy the equipment and make more creature tokens for me.

This is a famous illustration from Maurice Sendak’s, “Where the Wild Things are.” It’s a classic Caldecott-winning picture book for kids, so you should go down to your local library and familiarize yourself with this classic piece of children’s literature if you haven’t already. Yes, even if you’re 35 years old and into adult entertainment. Children’s literature is crucial for developing our understanding of the world and early literacy skills, and this book in particular won its medal because back in 1963 it was revolutionary for its respectful, honest treatment of children’s emotions, especially anger which to this day isn’t properly recognized as an emotion by most men.

One of my favorite things about designing my own game (specifically the art design) is that if I want artists like @barooing.bsky.social and @lauragalliart.bsky.social to meme all over my book, then I can do that.
