Ahhhh, upgrading Arch shifted from X11 to Wayland. And unsurprisingly Nvidia X-Server settings has a lot of X11-exclusive settings.
So I guess I am stuck with a very bland-looking main monitor.

I was finally able to update my Arch desktop, bringing the nvidia drivers from 550 to 590, and my little 1650 is back to working. Though the X-server settings is missing options, including the per-monitor digital vibrance which I quite needed. Performance seems better, so you win some and you […]

I was reading The Rust Book, particularly the part on memory and ownership. The last time I tried to read it was a year ago, and it's quite validating that I can actually understand a lot more of what the book is telling me. Alex Rust dev arc :P

Github wrapped, putting 2025 as the year I was most active in open source stuff (unsurprisingly).
It's funny how I can clearly see both KubeCon and openSUSE Con in the contributions chart. Also interesting how Python is still my most used language, despite my radical transition to Rust this year.

I did a thing to update my DNS record on Servfail. Smol bash script to check for IP changes, and only if it does change, does it send the GET request to Servfail to update it.
Naturally deployed to the K3s homelab, which I find to be overkill...

I have now realised I cannot just use CF as registrar, which vexes me because the pricing is reasonable.
I pay $12 a year for each of my 3 .dev domains. Anyone has recommendations for a registrar which won't charge me $30 renewal fees?

Supermarket has black friday and end-of-year sales. I got a smart bulb which does RGB cause that's pretty cool and it was cheap. Also it works on Google Home and Alexa.
However, it is a Xiaomi bulb, and it actually needs a Xiaomi account to work -____-
