‘She argued that she had been impersonated; however, the university determined that there was insufficient evidence to demonstrate this’

Is a fairly amazing sentence. Guilty until proven innocent.

Add in ‘tell Donald Trump where to go’ and replicate the Mark Carney approach?

No. Please no.

@martindbbrown.bsky.social as per our prior discussions on when something becomes history rather than current events. Three years…!

We better finish that paper…!

It was over at 0-3, but that was a bizarre game of football.

Obviously going forward it’s a concern but were we actually just really unlucky to some extent? The first goal we should defend better/Targett should get a shot away but it’s massively against the run of play. We dominated again and then they score a freakishly fortunate goal. Third goal is offside.

5-3-2? Looks very solid but creativity has to be a concern... good to see Ayling back.

Personally i'd have gone for Hansen over Burgzorg.

Still using it as a platform though. Unbelievable. It’s so, so easy to lead on something like that. Does he know he is the Prime Minister?

The UK Defence Budget is 2.5% of GDP. We spend 18% of our GDP on the combined budget of Education, Health, and Housing. I would like more money for all of those things, but this is not only a dreadful take, it's misleading to a point of being borderline disinformation.

‘Any Boxing Day fixture selection is likely to prove controversial, even if there is only one match, given the absence of most public transport.’

Every other Boxing Day there is a full schedule - how would this be a controversy?

The calling card of the modern right. Say something obnoxious, receive criticism, invoke civility (something that their initial take obviously lacked), claim victimhood and ‘being cancelled’ as evidence that actually, the people who criticised it are to blame. Vile.

Surely that’ll be President Musk’s revamp in a few years time?

It’s nearly the exact same people who spent years eulogising over Australian immigration policies - that the Johnson govt decided it would emulate. All of a sudden they’ve moved on from that because it was a horrible idea. Not that any of them have admitted it and now this is their latest magic fix.
October 22, 2025 at 10:42 AM
This is just another example of the intellectual stupidity at the heart of a lot of this debate. ‘Points-based Australian style immigration model’ was their last magic fix, devoid of a shred of context, and look how that turned out.

It basically applies to everything achieved since being in power. Unwilling to attempt to lead on absolutely anything and triangulating everything to appease the mythical Labour/Reform swing voter above all else.

I would like Kemi Badenoch to explain how and where she thinks that she fits into Katie Lam’s ‘culturally coherent’ vision.

This is National Front level shit, and it’s being amplified by the use of a platform I cannot believe the UK government continues to not only tolerate but actively use.

Just don’t talk about the 2007-2026 one… or most of the football played in that era either…

Tremendous. The current badge is basically associated with a period of decline anyway, but who knows, maybe it can go out with a bang this year...
