Thinking how people stare at you intently to detect if you are lying.

A lot VCs do this.

While this works, a much better way is to be friendly and relax the person you are analyzing.

You want to understand how people are when they are natural.

Just finished the latest Murakami book - The City and Its Uncertain Walls.

A masterpiece.

He really should win Nobel prize for his works.

Today is my book 📕 planning day.

Going to review a ton of best of and other lists to build my list to consume over the holidays and into 2025.

The explorer in me never rests but my job doesn’t afford a ton of time to read new books, so holidays is the time to catch up!

Some of the best founders I know has the most sever case of happy ears.

They just want to bend reality their way but reality has its own way too.

Use reflective listening to make sure you are headed in the right direction and not wasting time.

To every VC out there who thinks they are better than founders, who don’t treat founders well - you are badly mistaken.

We only exist because of founders.

We aren’t all that special.

Founders are.

One thing I proposed was to completely buy out the coal industry. For about 36b , you could buy all the coal plants (at a nice profit for owners ), give their customers 5 to 10 yrs to transition and give all employees full pay till retirement.

Take out coal and other paths get simpler
Thoughts?

When are we going to get intelligent skip to next chapter / topic in podcasts / podcast apps and video / video players?

The books have simplest thing we can do - go to next chapter.

With all the tech we have why can’t I do this with podcasts and video?!
