I help you understand OCD, Anxiety, and trauma with compassionate evidence-based education.
If you learn one thing from this page please let it be this amazing non engagement response.
I’m not exaggerating when I say this is my most used non engagement response and that’s because it’s so simple and, with practice, so effective for a variety of obsessions.

I hope it helps you too, Alex

But please, tell me again how you're "sooooo OCD" about organizing your closet.

Non-engagement responses = my most used skill in OCD recovery

A NER is a neutral response to an intrusive thought. They help us put distance between ourselves and our thoughts, allowing us to disengage and either stop or prevent us from falling into OCD’s spiral.

What are your fave NERS?

Why do Counseling textbooks/programs continue to center white male clinicians?

Albert Ellis? An entire chapter. Edna Foa? Barely a mention.

Where are Herman Moore Canady and E. Kitch Childs?

Clinicians won't learn to be multicultural when our books center white males.

Oh hi! I'm totally new to Bluesky and have no idea what I'm doing, but I do know I want to get off Meta. If anyone here is into mental health, OCD & anxiety, and the intersection of mental health and culture give me a shout. I'll just be over here trying to figure out how to work this thing.
