STAR WARS TALES #1: “SKIPPY THE JEDI DROID” (1999)

0 BBY (I)

Now this story *is* the most memorable in the issue, if not the entire series. The infamous comic about that droid in A New Hope with a “bad motivator.” May be responsible for setting the tone of the whole anthology.

16. Don-El. Superman's Kandorian cousin, and chief of the Kandor police. Sort of the Commissioner Gordon to Kandor's Nightwing and Flamebird.

Well, those aren’t the ones I recommended when everyone kept asking me where to read more about Hawkgirl

I imagine it’s pretty good to have the only Hawkgirl TPB out following the Superman movie

In a year of incredible work—in fact, especially so—it takes something particularly special to stand out above the crowd as one of its banner projects.

STAR WARS TALES #1-2: “EXTINCTION” (1999)

C. 1 BBY

Not the most memorable story from these issues, but maybe the most influential. This Ron Marz two-parter lays the blueprint for every Jedi remnant-hunting Darth Vader come to come for the next 25 years. Vader loses, by winning.

The one I read as a kid was “Sivana’s Time Trap!” He does this more than once.

I tried it, and it was the least boring of the Star Treks I tried, but still boring
