16,000 views on YouTube since October 24th, when I first started uploading footage from my Twitch streams over there. Discovery on YT is great; on Twitch and TikTok, not so much. Having fun learning a new hobby!

This 2001 FPS kicked off a mythical sci-fi saga that still gets talked about decades later, even if it’s not quite the draw it used to be. But what’s so special about the original Halo? Why do so many of us still care? Every couple years, I go back to remind myself:

My first proper, clickbait-y YouTube thumbnail! Halo: Combat Evolved with the classic 2001 graphics enabled. I've combined two original screenshots from the Assault on the Control Room ending cutscene, with Cortana huge and frightened on the left, her eyes glowing hot pink. On the right, Chief looks up at her, confused and utterly out of his depth. There's a platform of ancient Forerunner glass underfoot. I've given Cortana those emoji-style anime blushing effects on her cheeks, because her cheeks glow that way for real in the original cinematic. And I've put the classic Halo: Combat Evolved box logo in the center.
