Tomorrow, I will brainstorm a new path forward and hit the ground running. For tonight, I am letting myself feel all the feelings.

Needless to say, I am heartbroken. I was thrilled for the opportunity to embark on a career of public service and apply my skills as a federal worker. As a mom of two, I looked forward to the stability this job would provide my family following eight years in graduate school.

Today, I received notice that my job has been rescinded “in support of Presidential Memorandum entitled, 'Hiring Freeze' and the required actions related to federal civilian hiring.”
