Despite the official UNESCO date, October 5th, in Brazil, the Teacher's Day is celebrated on October 15th. This date was instituted during the Imperial period of Brazil, in 1827, but became an academic holiday only 120 years later, as a way to create an inspirational break during the 2nd semester.
