Arsenal played much better football under Wenger (and Emery TBH). It's obvious that the pendulum is swinging back from football to anti-football. But as a lover of football and a hater of anti-football, Arsenal are simply the avatar for the change I hate, so I hate them... but they make it easy.

Do you enjoy watching Arsenal? 12 teams in the league play better football. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Exceptions for Rice, Eze, and Saka, who mostly I find delightful.

This is one of the most detestable teams. From the manager to most of the players to the way they play. I’d rather Man City won the title for eternity than that this team ever won the title.

I'm willing to concede raising the salience of issues on which people prefer Rs right before the election is bad. But if you can't do it 12 months before the mid-terms and 36 months before the next presidential, when can you?

Right! Like, the "Ds should only talk about issues people already think they're better on" take is good for, say, the two months leading up to an election, but it's not clear how you would convince people that Ds are better about, e.g., immigration without talking about it.

Any idea if this special election would be RCV or not? RCV is, at least in part, a reaction to the last non-Dem AL election where nobody got over 20% of the vote.

Maybe I'm biased as a Liverpool fan, but I feel like the quality of the football peaked in 18-19. Guardiola vs Klopp produced high-quality, enjoyable-to-watch football. Now we've got the insufferable Arteta-ball throughout the league, and Guardiola isn't even Guardiola-ing.

I don’t really get how every player except Szobo, Grav, and Bradley turned into a pumpkin, which I don’t think is entirely Slot’s fault. But now Slot has botched the situation with Mo, and that is gonna be a problem because it suggests deeper issues in the locker room.

Benching Salah once? Whatever. But it’s not like the team played that well in the 1.5 games without him before today or that well today. So yeah, he’s gonna be pissed.

I genuinely believe the best approach in primaries is for each voter to vote for the candidate they personally find most compelling/want to lead the country. The gaming of voting for the people other people will like is both icky and unlikely to be successful.

Do you think Slot is responsible for Virg and Konate turned into pumpkins? I don’t really see that. I maybe blame him for Salah not doing any defending. But like, 2 goals today were Virgil handball and Konate doing who knows what.

Oh, cmon. It’s ball won’t go in net stuff. We’ve underperformed xGD by 13 goals in 11 games.

Classic way to make the fans love the team is to yell at the fans that they’re doing fandom wrong.

Dude, you can lead on this. There's a total vacancy of leadership. You're an elected official. Just hold a press conference every day. Serve as a clearinghouse for suspected abuses of power. Do something beyond posting like a constituent.

I suspect this group of Dems preferred to cave the whole time (we know Fetterman and King did), but that someone got them to not cave through the election. Now that the election is over, they're happy to do the thing they long wanted to do.
