Certainly a sign of the times but I bet there’s at least a kid in the city who did something very similar but with actual effort. Or just like, any real mental health advocate.

I don’t have a clip of the segment handy (also I was watching without sound so I don’t know if this was further explained) but this is the book. The other pages they showed were also clearly just AI generated. Product description and back cover too. www.amazon.ca/Boy-Who-Fear...

I understand your position and experience. Personally, I get that at a certain point (exploding on Twitter/Reddit within one day), it has to be addressed and not acknowledging when they’re obviously aware of it just makes it seem more true and the cycle continues. Especially Linus going non-roster.

I can appreciate that but as a player would you want to be left out to dry like that? Especially for Linus.

We’ve seen this happen before with the “Bedard’s mom” thing. the internet will spread random BS like a cancer and not acknowledging it would just be a cloud over online discourse. And a “no comment” is worse. The statement was a bit heavy handed but they had to it.

I always thought some sports fans were being dramatic when they said hearing the name of a certain athlete, or being reminded of an event, had an adverse effect on them.

Now, as a Jays fan, hearing the name Yoshinobu Yamamoto momentarily reminds me that my death is inevitable.

I’d rather not wait five months but I’m glad there’s a timeline to less suck at least
