It's fascinating how physical exercise can make you think clear.

Like solving system problems while weightlifting

Life consists not in holding good cards but in playing those you hold well.

Could that be true??

The world is not that the world is.
The world is what YOU are. It conforms to how you see it.

So you can #engineer your life, and your outcomes.
You expect good things, you'll get them.
You expect bad things, you'll get them.

Common sense is not a gift !!
Being balanced is a hassle because you attract all those who want to vent and look for validation. They think it's unfair you're your own man and try to drag you down too.

They don't know the effort you put in to get there!

Your life is defined by what you are doing when bored.

Or at least by your first impulse. This is a powerful force that can either help or sabotage you having a great life!

Sold my car yesterday ...
No more Skoda Superb.

Does that mean I'm not superb anymore?? ...

The stuff you avoid IS the stuff to do!

Growth means stretching the comfort zone which is uncomfortable and painful. Therefore growth means pain.

Which is GOOD!

Now coming out on the other side of this project. Tired, BUT Satisfied.

It turned out to be much more than I signed-up for. 𝗢𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲, no?
When you open up a can of worms you have 2 choices:
• you ignore and pretend you didn't see them, or
• you fix them and sleep well

You may already know I'm running a Strategic Positioning for Systems Engineers discussion group.

However,
These weeks I'm Positioning pipes in my bathroom refurb 🙂

But feel free to leave your thoughts and questions. I'll answer when I can. Unless someone else helps out.

I’m a problem solver, a communicator, a planner, an analyst, and a prover.

I’m the glue that binds projects and programs together. I’m the guy you ask how something works or how it’s supposed to work, and how to fix what’s broken.

I’m a #systemsengineer

𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵-𝟮𝟮:
You need 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗮 𝗷𝗼𝗯, but you need a job to get experience.

Sounds familiar? Still, 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗼!

Here's how to break this cycle: 👇

Most Systems Engineering courses don't prepare you for real-world challenges.

Why?

They focus on ideal scenarios and perfect processes.

But 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘀𝘆. You'll face:
• 𝘐𝘯𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘦 information
• 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 requirements 👇

Sometimes I wonder is the Universe all that's out there?

How are you staying productive today?
How's everything going for you? Care to share your experience?

Do you need any help or just someone to bounce ideas of of?
July 1, 2025 at 2:12 PM
Too much on my plate so it gets scary?
What SYSTEM do I use to make Success Systematic?

What do YOU?
I sometimes just tell myself: just take ONE thing from the list and DO that today.
Repeat tomorrow!

Is that too simple?

Technical Breadth vs Depth
Engineers struggle with the need to have:
• Broad knowledge across many domains
• Depth to make informed decisions
As one engineer put it it's a "mile wide/inch deep job". Maintaining this balance is an ongoing challenge.

Or am I wrong?
