As someone who likes, engages with and sometimes studies both Star Trek and teen/YA media, quick note on Starfleet Academy: It's solid so far. It's absolutely YA, but it's absolutely Star Trek too. It visibly struggles to bring both together, but it strives to. Trekkies should check it out!

I reread Molly J Bragg's Shatter and then discovered that there's a new one in the series. These things are just the best comfort read, but wow, did I forget they go hard on the weird stuff.
I think I recommend Shatter to one of my (high school) students once, and I'm glad she's not into superheroes

I'm excited for next season too! Lloyd, Palmowski, and Larsen are shoo-ins for a title bid at this point, potentially Gademan too. And Kosterman (who actually did some very good stuff in British F4 this season) and Robertson could be up in the standings too ...

And for the usual Alba Larsen review, what a race!?! Like, we all agree it was a team play, right? She defended, let Maya through after, took Nina right out of the fight, and as soon as Maya got past Doriane, she was up there again. Respect for the team game, and honestly such a good race!

The #1 underrated joy of this F1 Academy weekend is definitely all the teen drivers suggesting they wpuld totally have a drink and party in Vegas later, if the legal drinking age in the US wasn't so high.

Watching the reverse grid race right now. Heartbroken! Really trying to remember that it is still a driver error to hit the wall, and not the car's or the team's fault. But that back right gave out so easily. It's just such a bitter pill!

I have to admit, as much as love living centrally and don't usually mind the noise, it is kind of rough to hear all the announcements for the 10k you trained for and now couldn't run due to injury.
To be fair, I injured myself pretty early in training, and started training late, but still ...

Another word on Charlie Kirk: I'm German. My country was liberated by Americans shooting Nazis. We celebrate Stauffenberg, Elser, all the attempts on Hitler. I will not call killing men like Charlie Kirk wrong. It might be. I don't where the line is. But it's not as simple as screaming wrong.
