Do you like Jane Austen? Or maybe you're a fan of Susanna Clarke's Piranesi? Are you into surrealist fantasy of manners, infinite houses and god like beings that deal in the arts? Boy, do I have the perfect ttrpg for you, may I present PALLAS!

I'm only on the ttrpg indie space because of @friends-table.bsky.social and the fan community surrounding it, happy 11th fatt anniversary and good #fattrewind to everyone celebrating it! Here's a sad Cori I drew for #15daysofFatT 2023

Beautiful cool morning to sit in the shade and read some more PALLAS.
A tablet showed a page from PALLAS trrpg, next to a Tim Hortons mug of tea and a tote bag full of laptop and notebooks.

1. PALLAS (@vivien-holmes.bsky.social & @alicesamv.bsky.social )

That's right, I'm talking about this game again, but it FITS! Jane Austen meets Piranesi - you'll find infinite halls and rooms of surrealist, fantastical parties thrown by god-like patrons of the arts. 🎭🪭

I would definitely spend hours staring into space listening to an actual play of it

Lovers of indie #ttrpg, what are some of your favourites that you've read recently and are desperate to play?

Here are some of the gems I've got hold of, and recently read, that have me REALLY excited by their concepts, lore, design, or cool mechanics! 🤩

Thank you for the shout out! I hope you enjoy the game!

And then we have the Underbelly Domain, for those who are no longer a part f polite society, amongst them:

For the Military and Rural Domain, my favourite elements are actually interconnected. So here is Game, the Rural Guest, and The Wild Hunt, the Military Faction:

Fun fact! I wrote my thesis on jury trials. Here is what I have to say on the subject, as a guest of the Law Domain:
The Jury [Guest(s)]
 Reputation: Variable
The Jury is a multi-headed ever dissenting entity which
we all might temporarily be a part of.

With unending parties and countless guests, there is, of course, an unending number of waiters, cooks and maids in the Downstairs Domain. There are even rumours that they might be unionizing.
 The Union [Faction]
Whispered about in awe or fear depending on the
whisperer. There are rumours about whether or not
this faction might even truly exist, but sometimes the
power of the possibility is enough.

Those of the Crown Domain align themselves closely to the Monarch, the grand ruler of Pallas, who exists above the Patrons. There is, however, a second lesser known monarch in Pallas, one that I would gladly pledge my allegiance to:
The Mice King [Guest]
 Secondary domain: Downstairs
 Reputation: 10
Not too far away from the throne room, underneath
the floorboards there is a second much smaller throne
room with a second much smaller throne. That throne
seats the Mice King. The Mice King’s authority is not
recognized by any Patron and there have been military
campaigns to dethrone him. His sovereignty is recog-
nized by all mice in PALLAS and so he keeps on rulling.

Being from the Church can mean a great deal of different things in Pallas as it is up to debate what classifies as divine. I think Fig Apotheosis has a pretty compelling answer to that.
Fig Apotheosis, Hedonist Prophet
 [Patron]
Not all churches worship a god or even a patron,
Fig Apotheosis has built a church that worships
beauty and pleasure. His court is composed of
incredibly beautiful people dawning clothes more
beautiful still.

I’m an astrology girly, so my favourite setting element from the Academia has to be the astrologer’s guild. Being an infinite palace, there is no sky on Pallas, but that has not stopped people from looking up in search of answers.
 The Astrologers’ Guild [Faction]
A real mishmash, from fortune tellers to the more
fanciful side of the Mathematicians, but altogether
everyone who looks to the ceilings of the great halls
to uncover truth.

Pallas is a very stratified society where one’s affiliations matter a great deal. Using the Resistance system, we could represent that through the different Domains. The book includes setting write-ups with Patrons, Guests, Factions and Rooms from each Domain. Here are some of my favourites:

The Starlet is perfectly represented by Hester Prynne by Hugh Thomson
alicesamv.bsky.social
Last, but not least, we have the Starlet! The original influencer, this class is about being famous and being pampered for it, what exactly is your art form is unclear. In many ways, the Starlet is the class that really has their finger on the pulse of Pallas’ social structure.

The Groundskeeper is represented by The Countess of Effingham with Gun and Shooting Dogs, by George Haugh, who has not one, but two dogs
alicesamv.bsky.social
There's no outside in Pallas. But there are gardens and rooms with entire forests inside of them, manicured and taken care of by people such as the Groundskeeper. This profession has abilities that give you control over space or history. But my favourite has to be the one where you get a dog.
