I wanna publish zines and rage against machines.

I choose all of us.

My lifesaver plant has one tiny flower on it, so of course I had to run around and show everyone how amazing it is (like a perfectly normal human worm baby).

The mini nectarine I planted several seasons ago is finally pouring out fruit and the beets are starting to go crazy as well. 🌱

Took the not-so-littles to see the Grossology exhibit at the Discovery Center and it took every ounce of restraint I had not to jump over the railing to look at this more closely. Little known fact - I am obsessed with automatons and animatronics. This guy was huge! #science

Sunflowers reminding me that the world can be a beautiful place.

I have always wanted to become a tree or be cremated and thrown somewhere fun - in other words, I don’t care much about what happens to me when I die, but I’d rather not be embalmed. This book confirmed some of my views of death and the afterlife and was a truly fun and interesting read. #booksky

Bartleby (Bart) snoozing on the couch. One tiny lovely thing that makes all of the stupid things a bit easier.

Horrible week overall, but my hibiscus flowered for the first time this summer so it’s not all bad.

The neighbor found my missing package from Haymarket Books and I am especially excited to read The Gate of Memory. It is a book of poems written by descendants of people who were put into internment camps in World War II.

Saturday tunes. One of the only Record Store Day releases that was a must today.

My secretary hard at work.

Found a zine in the wild. It always makes me so happy. #freepalestine

Our neighborhood is going to be beautiful this year if I have anything to say about it because I am adding seed sharing to our little free library.

My signed copy of Everything is Tuberculosis finally arrived in time for me to binge read it before break ends! I’m reasonably sure it was signed in the 30,000 to 40,000 range, given the signature color.

Working on a new sign for our little free library, but we added some stickers today.

The crocus are in bloom, so nature moves forward even as humans seem to stagnate.

Took a drive to clear my head after an insanely stressful week. I highly recommend it.

Thursday tunes. Soothing my inner child with a little Maurice Sendak and Carole King.

Working through this today instead of watching sportsball.

January is supposed to be a time to hibernate and read but instead it has been a month of horror, stupidity, and obligation. Still, I did manage to read five books that were not work related.

I had to look twice, but it was just a doppelgänger of my tortie. This is Envy Adams, the mouthy old lady of our fuzzy brood.

Adorable, heartwarming YA graphic novels by Bree Paulsen. I had to take a breather from the more intense reads for a few, and I had so much fun with both of these. The illustrations are beautiful and full of detail, and the storytelling is original and interesting. My daughter loved them as well. 📚💙

The dentist’s office has a small library of books you can purchase for $1 to benefit a charity. Most of them are kind of forgettable, but these two made me chuckle.

I ultimately left the office with an appointment for a filling and without either book. 💙📚
