Ending this thread with 2015-2017, aka the years where running became my religion (and I was a daily practitioner)🤪

Just realized I can take a trip down memory lane with 10 years of Apple Music Replay data, so let’s go.

Starting with the years 2022-2025 aka the music that has fueled the building of my newsroom.

21. The Christmas Guest, a novella by Peter Swanson

Fun Christmas murder mystery that hits all the holiday notes, including a ghost of Christmas past

Day 3 of Thanksgiving leftovers:

Finished the jellied cranberry sauce today, but included all of the rest of the leftovers in a dish I lovingly call Thanksgiving slop.

Finished the green bean casserole today, still have leftovers of everything else

“The Eyes of Texas,” has always given me the creeps, and that’s as a person who was born and raised in the state.

I can’t imagine what it’s like for folks not from the state when the lights go down and everyone around them is yelling the below lyrics at the top of their lungs after a winning game.

Day 1 of Thanksgiving leftovers:

We have run out of deviled eggs, but still have everything else (including the roll that I ate while waiting for my food to reheat)

The apple crisp, fresh out of the oven, that we are simply too full to crack into tonight

I love a holiday that's all about food

Breakfast (cranberry crumb cake), the turkey fresh out of the oven, the full spread and the plate)

Dessert (apple crisp) is still in the oven.

Today’s special guest is Adriana (A1871072), a 4-year-old female shepherd mix who is well mannered, very friendly and has been at the shelter for more than 100 days.

She’s available for adoption at the Western Riverside County/City Animal Shelter at 6851 Van Buren Blvd. in Jurupa Valley.

Picked up a box of this high-fiber oatmeal on a whim at the store last week. 10/10 would recommend.

I top it with some raspberries and generally have an egg or two on the side, and it keeps me full until lunch.

Spent my day in Rancho Cucamonga at Chaffey College talking about how to make complex issues (like school bond elections or redistricting) easier for voters to understand using zines!

20. Alchemy of Secrets by Stephanie Garber

Genuinely loved every minute of reading this book. The pacing was perfect, the twists were thrilling and the ending was everything I wanted as a reader.

“What is magic, if not something that makes you believe and feel and wonder?”

Last month, I had it out with @gofundme.com, which created a fundraising page for the nonprofit I founded. I thought it was resolved (first image), as the page was removed.

Today, I got an email stating that GoFundMe had not only recreated that deleted page, but also "verified" it (second image).

I fear South Pasadena is failing at its geo-targeting. I’m literally sitting in my apartment just outside of DTLA.
