Democracy enthusiast. Voter and knitter in beautiful Washington state. I like rocks and books and PNW weather.
Oh! I didn’t know about Whamageddon. But we play something similar in my house called “The Little Drummer Boy Game”.

One rule: if you hear Little Drummer Boy, you lose.

I lost BEFORE THANKSGIVING this year at Ace Hardware. Sigh.

Maybe I’ll have better luck with Whamageddon?

We had banana slug races at camp. Our cabin had the winning slug!

The PNW rules.

Just lovely! Your colorwork is so even, and I love your colors

The part about having lots of yarn, anyway. The well organized part? Not so much. Plus…I get a little anxious thinking about how that yarn isn’t protected from moths

Can we make this a constitutional amendment please?

The dot com bubble burst, but we bounced back quickly because the underlying idea & technology (business on the internet) was *useful*. There are some applications where AI really has some amazing potential (hello science!) but overall I fucking HATE IT and don’t need it, like ever

Too bad I don’t need yarn. My son brought his girlfriend home for Thanksgiving, and he asked me “Where do you keep your yarn?” (she knits!!), and I went around the house pointing out all the yarn I have squirrelled away. And…yikes😬, so much yarn 🧶

What a great deal! I love my nice Lykke wooden interchangeable needles, but second place goes to my trusty old metal Knit Picks interchangeables. The other brands go unused unless I am really REALLY desperate

I’m jelly! We haven’t even had a freeze yet this fall, let alone snow. There’s nothing better than knitting while watching snow falling. Enjoy!

I aspire to be as cool as the Otter Guy. He seems like he’s wearing as leather jacket even when it’s just a polar fleece

We’ve only seen them twice. The first time, we noticed a group of people pointing at something. A dude walking past us in opposite direction gave us a cool shrug, a slight lift of his chin, and drawled “Otters” as he sauntered by.

For 15 years, we’ve muttered “Otters” whenever we pass the Otter Guy

Today I saw my first humpback whale! We were on our normal walk, and there it was, frolicking out in the Puget Sound. So cool.

We’ve also seen over the last 25 years on this same walk:

Sea otters
Great Blue Herons
Sea lions
Bald eagles

The sea mammal sightings are rare though

For real though: I haven’t been to a concert in 30 years
