There was a time when there was a “ruins boom” in Japan. Bookstores were filled with related photo collections, and I remember buying some myself. Ruins somehow evoke scenes from the past, and I find their decaying appearance appealing.

okay, can we talk about the sensor perioscopes on the rx-78-2 (gquuuuuux)?
This is labelled as an MFC which I assume means "Mass Flow Sensor(!)", meaning the feddies aren't just using inertial but optical data to perform proprioception (bodily joint location estimation).
This is ... Kinda bonkers?
