Signs were there last season. The latter part we were poor. Start of this season we won games we didn’t deserve to win. We bought players like Wirtz, Isak and Ekitike that were on all teams shopping list. The miss was a centre half. The fact we’ve not even maintained a decent standard is alarming

I agree 100% but it’s deeper than just defence - and we signed Frimpong (in my eyes not a defender) and Kerkez who makes Julian Dicks look like Beckenbauer

I can’t fathom how weren’t 450 million on players - all class players, Kerkez excluded- and regressed. We were dire latter part of last season and won games this season we shouldn’t have. Klopp was screaming for a budget that Slot was given!

It’s a fair shout. I’ve supported them for over 60 years but I have to say this is the most mystifying to me. I’ve seen out form fall as we’ve bought badly or the team aged but we’ve bought form players, Kerkez excluded, and come off the back off a premiership title.
