I hope this Nobel Prize gets people talking meaningfully about our amazing immune systems and the importance of basic research to human health (and funding basic research).

I am also glad young women get to see that women can not only work at this level, but that those who do can get recognized.

Took me 26 hours between rail and flight, what would have been 6 hours on a normal day. Flight delayed multiple times, then cancelled l, then rerouted to Munich, then hotel at midnight, early flight to Bordeaux with 3 hours of sleep. We were only missing the drones over Munich!

Haha, I know the feeling. I always start in a smaller bowl, convinced it’ll fit, & end up shoveling the whole thing into a bigger one halfway through. The moment you add dressing, it’s like the salad expands (pun intended) in size. Fruit salads no better, the grapes always seem to invite friends.

In the #GEF25 Presidential Lecture, chaired by @eboyden3.bsky.social, Stefan Hell presented a conceptual breakthrough, a dramatic shift from the 2014 Nobel Prize in Chemistry on super-resolution: fluorophores no longer need on–off states, effectively nullifying the diffraction barrier.
