More congrats to Isabella and Olivia during the second day of of the Fairfax Challenge at Fredericksburg, VA.  Isabella and Olivia both fenced in the Y14 Women's Foil event.  This was Olivia's first Y14 Regional Event. Both Isabella and Olivia went 4 wins and 1 loss in their pools.  Isabella seeded 6th after pools, and Olivia seeded 7th after pools.  Olivia had a bye in the first round, in the second round, Olivia received a red card at 13-13, but rallied to win 15-14.

Regularly Scheduled Class on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 6PM:  Regular Youth Class 7PM:  Regular Teen Class + Students in the Wednesday 6PM Class + All Epee Fencers No Classes: Wednesday, December 31, 2025 Thursday, January 1, 2026 Open Fencing On Saturday, January 3, 2026 We'll do another open fencing on Saturday, January 3, 2026 from 10AM-12PM.

Miss Josi Open Epee Events Congrats to Shrihan Arramreddy for taking 1st in the teen epee, Bill Karnavas from Forge Fencing took first in the adult men's epee, but Robert Pierce is our highest placer from All-American Fencing at second!  Home for Christmas break, Grace takes first in the adult women's epee, Ms. Rebekah Prosceno takes second, and Susan Pereira takes third!

Things to remember that's coming up! December All Epee Tournament We’ll be hosting an all epee event in December! 9:30AM:  Open epee for ages 13-20.  Any of our fencers in the age group can participate! 12PM:  Men’s Ages 21+.  Not only our current adult fencers, but we’ll create a crash course in December for all our parents who want to participate!

Congrats to Zion who competed in the foil and epee events in Wilmington over the weekend. Zion placed 5th in the Open Foil and 10th in the Open Epee.  The open epee event ended up as an A2 rated event, so Zion's 10th place earned him a D rating. Isaac also fenced over the weekend and tied for 3rd in the open foil event. 

Don't forget, we're doing a parent crash course and epee practice tomorrow for all our epee fencers, and parents that want to participate in our next epee tournament! Saturday, December 6, 2025, 9:30am-11:30am.

Fencers, Adults, and Parents Epee Tournament! On Saturday, December 13, 2025, we are hosting an epee tournament for all our teen epee fencers (and any fencer that wants to try an epee tournament).  We are also hosting an adult and parent epee tournament for all our adults and parents that want to try a tournament or competed in the last tournament! 

Need to work off Thanksgiving and the day after left overs? We'll be open on this Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 10am-12pm for anyone that wants to come out and fence or just hang out! Tell your teammates who want to fence with to come out! We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Hey everyone!  As we end the a giant tournament weekend and begin Thanksgiving Weekend here's a recap of the weekend and events coming up.  I'll try to keep it short so you can get it all! Hey everyone, we are excited about this weekend, we'll have a record breaking number of fencers! To accommodate for the numbers, we are starting 2 events half an hour later. Congrats to Zion Facey and Isabella Lee, both qualified for the 2026 Junior Olympics in January 2026 in Kansas City, MO. Zion went 4-2 in his pool for Junior Men's Foil and seeded 3rd going into eliminations. In the semi-finals, although the 2nd seed, Max Yun, defeated Zion in the pools, Zion soundly ousted Max 15-6. An upset also occurred on the other side of the bracket when 5th seed Joel Ertzberger defeated 1st seed Channing Monsch, setting up a finals between Joel Ertzberger and Zion Facey.

Well, it was a great weekend to say the least.  Here's the recap: Olivia Takes 7th at River City Rumble Olivia McKinney was in Richmond for the River City Rumble Regional competing in the Y12 Women's Foil against 29 other fencers.  She only lost one bout in her pools and seeded 8th going into elimination rounds.  She breezed through the first elimination and toppled a higher seed in the second round 15-3. 

Over the weekend, Olivia McKinney and Isabella Lee took part in a fencing clinic with Olympians Lee Kiefer and Gerek Meinhardt.  They also had an opportunity for a question and answer, meet and greet, and seeing their Olympic medals! The Southern Results It was a tough weekend, but we had a learning and exciting experience at The Southern Regional USA Fencing event in Myrtle Beach, SC.  Isabella Lee, Olivia McKinney, and Coach Gerhard brough home some medals!  Here are the results: Alexander Cantero-Gignac: DIV1A Men's Foil, 29th Placed Zion Facey:  Junior Men's Foil, Earns Regional Points, 26th Place…

Parents, yep, you!  Not your fencer.  We are hosting a Saturday and Sunday Vet tournament on October 25 and 26, 2025.  In fencing, the Veteran age group is anyone born 1986 or earlier.  And we're trying to get some of our parents to brave a home competition! We definitely need more: Vet Men's Foil (Saturday, 10AM) Vet Women's Foil (Saturday, 1PM)

Congrats to our competitors over the weekend! Lucas and Ashton tied for third place in the Elementary School event! Olivia took first and Gideon tied for third place in the Middle School event! Julian took 5th and Gideon took 7th in the homeschool event! Lastly the Homeschool Team of Mesha, Enobong, and Mia took third, and they looked great!  I have good hopes for them this year!

Hey everyone, quick some updates on tournaments, including the Youth Pisacafe Circuit and Homeschool events. Next weekend is a tournament at Apex Fencing Academy On Saturday, September 27th is Senior Women's Foil, Vet Combined Mixed Epee, and Senior Men's Foil.  On Sunday, September 28th is Vet Combined Mixed Foil (Coach Gerhard is registered), Senior Women's Epee, and a rather large Senior Men's Epee (if any of our epee fencers would like to venture a sanctioned event).
