When choosing art for your home, trust your emotional pull.

Research shows art that personally resonates — not what “matches the couch” — delivers the biggest boost to well-being and connection.

Your walls should speak in your voice.

Two curious Golden-cheeked Warblers visited our property in Wimberley, Texas — and ended up inspiring my latest painting. Learn more about the Golden-cheeked Warbler, why it’s endangered, and how we can help protect it ➡️ www.eallenfineart.com/eallenfinear...

Feeling scattered? Try this:

1. Stand in front of your favorite artwork at home.
2. Breathe in.
3. Notice color, shape, texture—not thoughts.
4. Exhale.

You’ve just practiced a micro-art meditation. Neuroscience shows this can lower cortisol and bring clarity—all without leaving your living room.

When you bring nature-inspired art — like landscapes or birds — into your space, you’re giving your mind a restorative view. Data-based reasons for allowing yourself to bring original art home!

Ever notice how a room feels different after you hang a new piece of art?

That’s because the brain responds to texture, color, and emotion in real art — not mass prints. It’s a conversation between your inner world and your space.

Art that moves you keeps your home alive.

Here's what the evidence shows:

1. Regular exposure supports well-being, meaning, and emotional regulation.

2. Art in home spaces shapes mood, perception, and focus.

3. Personal resonance with the artwork amplifies its impact.

The overall healthcare impact is real, not just “nice to have.”

Just made it back to Santa Fe and continuing to flesh out my studio here. I brought my current series with me in hopes of making steady progress, but I need to make an art store run to get all the paint I need. Until then, I’m doing a little limited palette art journal practice.

Enjoyed the Jon Batiste ACL taping Friday night. Hands down one of the best performances I’ve seen. He has such a warm stage presence. And when everyone thought the show was over, he and the band played When the Saints go marching in and did a second line through the theater. 🤩🤩🤩

I believe the small things matter - a handwritten note, a beautiful image on the wall, a thoughtful gift. That's what The Studio Store is all about.

What small joys brighten your everyday?

Which bird? (Poll)

I'm inspired by birds, especially threatened and endangered species - but I'd love your input. What bird should I paint next?

I've just launched my Studio Store - starting with greeting cards and art prints, with more treasures coming soon. Thank you for being here at the very beginning. ✨

What kind of notes do you love to send most - celebrations, encouragement, just because?

A little sneak peek into a new product! These will be available soon on my website in packs of 10 cards and envelopes, all in sturdy clear display cases. I’ve got to hand it to Canon—the PRO 300 series printers really are amazing. These cards look as clear and silky smooth as the original artwork.

There’s a special kind of magic in varnish day — you leave one version of the painting behind, and wake up to a whole new one. Matte finish for the win ✨ Which of these two pieces has your eye today?

Just finished a blog on the Piping Plover—a delicate little shorebird that recently became the subject of my endangered bird series. The painting sold before hitting the market, but here's the story: www.eallenfineart.com/eallenfinear...

OMG! Krylon UV Archival matte spray varnish has been kicking my rear. I’m still trying to figure out how to get a successful coat without clogging or my painting turning white from too much matte agent and not enough varnish. Please share use tips in comments section! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Some plein air painting in Santa Fe. I was trying to capture that blinding moment the sun comes peaking over the mountains in the morning, and the long shadows of the junipers on the foothills in the full morning sun. I can’t wait to get out do more painting in this style.

Another fav. Layers of deep blue, violet, and magenta are punctuated with energetic shapes and textured brushwork, creating a sense of movement and resilience. The composition invites viewers to reflect on strength, transformation, and the beauty that emerges in the act of breaking free.

One of my favs. A sunflower in full bloom brings warmth and joy to the rolling hills of Tuscany. This piece combines the bold beauty of nature with the charm of the countryside, creating a vibrant reminder of light, color, and open landscapes.

We had a little visitor this morning! So fun to see these critters up close.

Trying my hand at a little plein air painting out here in Santa Fe. Gave myself 2 hours max to finish. It was so much fun and a little stressful. It's really hard to keep your paint wet in the desert! But, I got through and I'm happy with the result. More to come!

A few small choices can make a big difference—staying out of nesting areas, leashing dogs, supporting habitat restoration. For shore birds, it can mean the difference between survival and loss. Here's a blog post about this:

✨ A single Piñon Jay can bury thousands of seeds each year. Without them, piñon pine forests wouldn’t thrive.

Sadly, these brilliant blue birds are now declining. I wrote about their story on the blog—come take a look.

I’m trying out a fun concept for some of my art—coasters! These came out brilliant. I couldn’t be happier with them. I’d love to know what YOU think! Are these worth pursuing or better left alone? Leave a comment!
