Who is voting yes? Struggling to hold back from a House of Dynamite style situation in which all dems get nuked before bothering to find out who did it.

If I could afford to move to New York just to vote against Schumer I would.

Every liberal should stop at nothing to remove the spineless parasitic worms from the democratic party. We can't move forward until they're all gone.

Has supporting health care won any political race or gained any political capital for democrats ever? I've not seen it. It has lost them a ton of races back when ACA was first implemented, but they've never got any credit for it after perceptions of ACA turned around.

Does anybody ever point to dates when the 'good times' started and ended and why? The arguments are mostly that many people are miserable today, which is true but misses the point. The social pressure here is on not denying misery rather than making a coherent argument that times were better before.

I agree that this is a social media problem, but who are these big accounts that are to blame? I always had the feeling that the problem was that there were a lot of mutually reinforcing accounts rather than a few big taste makers.

Terrible take. Some stories need more time. A good long story cut to 84 minutes sucks. A good short story cut to 2.5 hours sucks. Does the story make appropriate use of the time?

I use Spotify for my drive to work and was disappointed when I searched for it after watching the heartwarming youtube about your movie. Very happy to dive in now!

It's next door to the original Old Spaghetti Factory. You have a higher chance of being killed by too many calories at OSF than you do by antifa.

The original Old Spaghetti Factory is right next door to ICE HQ. Not in the top 100 dining experiences here, but it's something to watch ICE agents barge in to use the restroom (maybe plumbing issues at ICE HQ?)

You are cherry picking and creating ad hominem attacks to defend your position. I'm not saying you're wrong, but this kind of defensiveness is not healthy.

Let's all at least admit that Bella Ciao is a weird song to reference in 2025, and that there are probably a million songs or messages that would have worked better if he was just trying to promote anti-fascism.

There were 4 inscriptions. 2 were absolutely not leftist in any way. 2 could definitely be leftist depending on interpretation. There's really no certainty here. Your pretending to know the intent with certainty is more in line with Qanon

Maybe it's an argument over the term 'working class'? Can someone with a specialized degree that, on average, makes more than the median wage be in the 'working class'? I'm not saying they can't, but that's straying a bit from the going definition.

I hate these endless unwinnable "debates". Here is the median income by state worldpopulationreview.com/state-rankin.... Here is the average teacher pay by state worldpopulationreview.com/state-rankin... . The average teacher pay is slightly higher than medium income pretty much everywhere.

The point is that this is expected behavior when you send in the guard (or the marines or the army...) for political theater. And also that anybody who believes they could actually contribute in any real way to reducing crime is not serious.

It's common to all military as far as I've seen. Leadership gives no orders, so soldiers stand around aimlessly until given orders. Are you suggesting something else is happening here that's specific to the guard?

If we're being honest, something like 90% of being in the military is standing around aimlessly like this. The other 10% is terrible training. You don't actually do a job unless you're in a war zone, and even then it's rarely contributing towards anything.

I guess I'm confused by anyone who thinks that hateful remarks are worse than racism. Racism is also hateful. I guess the difference is hate against you specifically vs hate against millions of specific races?
