I understand the "these people are insufferable" point of this post, but the theory of learned helplessness has been disproven; we actually have to learn that we *aren't* helpless, as trying to tough it out is the natural response.

At best, these people were never taught they could try new things.

I don't want to scramble and scrape forever. I would like to rest and build and appreciate and have community and engage in being the weird shape that takes the world and others into its million uneven but loving facets.

"Man, I slept like the DEAD last night. I feel like a whole new person!"
