The show basically depicts therapists as unprofessional, egghead harpies that pry into your business and judge you. Melfi breaks client confidentiality! My therapist friends couldn't even watch the show.

It's so interesting to me that y'all thought Melfi was a good portrayal of a therapist. I watched the Sopranos for the first time recently, and my immediate reaction was "well I'm sure this show set back the cause of 'men-going-to-therapy" by a good 20 years 😂
