Is it a travel show? Sort of. Is it a history show? Sort of. Is it poorly recorded on a laptop mic in the back of a van? You bet it is!

@trashfuture.bsky.social, please reassure me that I've taken a severe blow to the head while out in the mountains and this is just a symptom of concussion.

I had a call with fellow van nomad, Mireia, to talk about living on the road and why I make the terrible choices I make.

Apologies to everyone who gets the ick from football fan groups posting text app screengrabs on social media, but following the events of today's game against @claptoncfc.co.uk, it felt important to say something

Today's L&SERWFL Trophy final vs Dulwich Hamlet Res has been abandoned.

The presence of Palestine flags among both sets of supporters was deemed unacceptable by the venue and the game was duly called off.

Clapton CFC were 2-0 up at the time through goals from Emily Link and Egle Trezzi.

@trashfuture.bsky.social you must have been sent this a million times. But if not, behold the website of Fyre Festival 2. A 1998 Geocities looking site trying to flog tickets for up to $1.1m. Fun fact, the festival is now "postponed"

Yes, I was going to finish writing the Tomorri episode. But I got distracted.
March 1, 2025 at 7:43 PM
While listening on headphones I was yelling out @trashfuture.bsky.social quiz answers to try and win the lightning round. Now everybody in Delphi thinks I have a weird British Tourettes.

But I did score 26. Will I be allowed back in?

I was going to finish writing my next episode on the mythology of Mount Tomorri. But then listened to @worstpossible.world with @jkass99.bsky.social. And now I need to replay Final Fantasy VII. See you in about 40-60 hours.

I'm pleased to see Albania also has Umarells.
January 28, 2025 at 8:14 PM
Today's trek was up the holy mountain Tomorr. It plays the same role in Albanian folklore as Olympus does in Greek, the home of the Gods.

Unfortunately, Albanian Zeus was unavailable to do a podcast interview.

Starting a photo collection I'm calling Albanian vehicles in unexpected places.

Some more photos of the Theth Mountain Guiding service.

Payment for 4 hours of mountain guiding. It's a pretty reasonable price.

Theth, Albania. A town where the mountain guiding industry has been monopolised by the local dogs.

They just latch on to anybody they see in hiking gear to go on walkies, and they know all the trails like the back of their paw.

Up in Theth for the weekend to do a bit of walking.

@number10cat.bsky.social ever considered an ambassadorship? The consulate in Kotor needs somebody who can connect with the locals.

More Kotor cats 😍

Kotor. The town that exists seemingly just to serve cats.

Back home.

The towing company called to say they'd overcharged me and sent me a 70€ refund. Croatia's nice like that.

I usually get a breakdown that requires unexpected stops once every 6 months. So hopefully I've got it out of the way early this time.

On to Albania. 🇦🇱

Of all the places to get stuck waiting for a van repair, Split is quite a good one.

Ever hear the saying "always wear clean underwear, because you might get hit by a car and end up in a hospital gown?"

I'd like to add "remember to close the toilet hatch after peeing. You don't know when you'll get towed, and the whole van will end up stinking of turds."
January 3, 2025 at 6:07 PM
Time for an impromptu holiday in Split.

As I was driving on the motorway in the rain I started to think "is it me or are my window wipers getting slower?" The nearest garage was 45km away and I tried to limp Abbie there. But all the electrics died, followed shortly after by the engine.

New Year hangover day completed. Back to driving.

Heading down one of the world's great touring routes. The Dalmatian Coast.

Parked up in Starigrad. Continuing south tomorrow.
