I mostly write to calm my nerves when Spurs play and I enjoy this as a place to distract myself from work and chores. #COYS
You’re probably right. Perhaps a penalty and second yellow for «threatening body language» or something along those lines.

We were tidy, organized and created before the red. Good runs into spaces. Seemed to me to move towards a step in the right direction for a team under construction. Which I think we in fact are. The red card changes the game, so hard to say what would have been.

Xavi’s red, yes. VARd’up from a fair yellow. I have no idea why VAR hardly seemed to look at the 2-0 where Romero is pushed with straight arms out off the duel. Lots of other awkward calls. Romero’s second yellow; minor offense - some refs will let it slide, but will often get called.

Thanks. Yes. But before that the longest night of the year seems appropriate right now.
December 20, 2025 at 7:44 PM
Yup
December 20, 2025 at 7:25 PM
Well, sometimes you can actually assign solid amounts of blame on the ref and also lament a clumsy mistake that led to a red. We looked like a competent team up until the red. I remain curious how this game would have looked 11v11.

Strong maybe
December 20, 2025 at 7:00 PM
Looking at Romero, that seems to be the plan.
December 20, 2025 at 6:55 PM
«Slow-motion red». Very appropriate term.
December 20, 2025 at 6:37 PM
Alternatively, Frank got really unlucky because a stupid red card probably blew a game where we looked organized and even created some opportunities against decent opposition.

I don’t understand why people have it in for him. On the contrary I think he’s strengthened his presence in the box which was more of an issue before? And clearly seems like one of the leaders in an otherwise quite young squad.
December 16, 2025 at 8:09 PM
Yup. Been to all the home games this autumn. Not the best of times.
December 14, 2025 at 11:40 PM
Well, I’m sure there were some other arguments there when he was hired. We weren’t privy to them all then and aren’t now, but some of those might still be valid?
December 14, 2025 at 11:13 PM
Are you pinning the goals today on Vic?
December 14, 2025 at 5:43 PM
Better second half incoming.
December 14, 2025 at 3:02 PM
Well, they play out from the back like that often. Straight pass from Vic to approaching midfielder who passes out to CB on first. Archie lacked awareness there. It happened and happens. But that’s not on Vic at all in my book.
December 14, 2025 at 2:52 PM
Another positive: Much has been said about a disconnect and more distance between the players and the fans. However, Wilson and Archie both came over to the South Stand, climbed the fence and gave away their shirts to young fans after the game.

We could also consider the possibility that Frank, who has been working full time as a manager in football for years, and got himself to the top level doing so, actually knows a thing or two about how you build a team and manage ups and downs with elite players?

Pun-ished…was that on purpose?
December 3, 2025 at 10:06 PM
Great to meet the team drawing the most penalties right around the time refs apparently have come together to introduce brand new way to award penalties against Spurs. Should be fun!
December 3, 2025 at 6:33 PM
Vibes aplenty solely of the positive kind, hereby digitally shipped. Wish you all the best!
December 3, 2025 at 6:03 PM
Thanks. I thought about this piece when elsewhere commenting on the current anti-Frank swell. There is also so much about a manager we only infer indirecty; how the manager builds the team - beyond the formations and selection. Cohesion, unity, personell on an off the field, external contact...

I also liked Kolo Muani’s direct running and ball handling at speed.
December 3, 2025 at 8:49 AM
I’ll wear my aluminum hat to work tomorrow. After that penalty, conspiracy theory is alive and kicking! Just about the stupidest I’ve seen from VAR and that’s quite an achievement!
